How do we design health care environments that are fully welcoming and inclusive of persons with disabilities? This requires thoughtful practices and policies designed to identify and remove barriers, such as physical, communication, and attitudinal. Often these practices benefit people of all ages and abilities. In this session, the presenter will define disabilities and discuss the health inequities experienced by these populations, as well as tangible strategies to build inclusion and accessibility into everyday health care practices.
