Prioritizing the Mental Wellbeing of Youth in the Black Hills

The Community Health Center of the Black Hills recognized a need for mental health care for youth in their service area. The pandemic magnified the concerns, and the team committed to a six-month training from the National Council of Mental Well Being.
Health care staff will share the steps for implementing a youth mental wellbeing program and describe lessons learned and best practices.
Objectives:
- Discuss barriers to mental wellbeing for community youth
- Explain the benefits of the National Council of Mental Well Being training
- Describe the team and each member’s role
The Best Practice Briefs are hosted by the South Dakota Foundation for Medical Care in partnership with the Great Plains Quality Innovation Network
